Awning Protector Installation Steps

Pre-Installation Preparation:

  1. Smooth out the vinyl cover:
To remove folds and creases from the vinyl, apply heat by placing the cover under direct sunlight for a few hours or by carefully pouring hot water along the sleeve. This will help soften and straighten the sleeve, making installation easier.

  2. Straighten the polycord:
Unroll the polycord and straighten it as much as possible. A straight cord ensures smoother feeding through the sleeve.

  3. Prepare the cord ends:
Check and smooth the ends of the polycord to eliminate any sharp edges that may catch on folds or seams within the sleeve. Light sanding may help round the edges.

  4. Apply lubricant:
Use a lubricant such as silicone spray or a thick, soapy water solution along the length of the polycord. This will reduce friction and make it easier to feed the cord through the sleeve.
