Why protect a rolled caravan awning?
- Reduced UV exposure: Covers the rolled fabric to help limit fading and premature ageing caused by direct sunlight.
- Reduced heat exposure: Adds an outer barrier between the retracted awning and the sun.
- Protection from the elements: Helps reduce direct contact with rain, dust and airborne debris while the awning is not in use.
- A cleaner awning: Helps prevent dirt from settling directly onto the rolled fabric.

How to install the caravan awning protector
The protector requires a separate sail track positioned above the existing awning-fabric sail track.
Important installation tip — straighten the poly-cord sleeve first: The cover may retain folds after packing, leaving the sleeve wavy. Trying to insert the poly cord while the sleeve is wavy can make the job unnecessarily difficult.
Lay the cover flat in warm sunlight until the vinyl softens, then gently stretch and straighten the sleeve. Alternatively, warm the sleeve gradually with a hair dryer while straightening it. Keep the hair dryer moving and avoid excessive heat. Insert the poly cord only after the sleeve is straight.
- Purchase a suitable length of protector sail track from a hardware or caravan-accessory supplier.
- Install the protector sail track directly above the existing awning-fabric sail track, using a fixing method suitable for your caravan.
- Lay the protector flat and straighten the warmed poly-cord sleeve.
- Use the sewn-in pull loop to draw the supplied poly cord through the sleeve, forming the corded edge.
- Feed the corded edge into the open end of the protector sail track and slide the protector along the track.
- Align the centre strap and secure it using the supplied middle mounting bracket.
- Wrap the corner straps around the awning posts and tighten the metal cam buckles.
